Australia

Three routes into Australia. One of them is probably yours.

Australia decides your route by the passport you travel on: the eVisitor, the Electronic Travel Authority, or a full Visitor visa. Here is what each one actually involves.

  • Multiple visits within 12 months
  • Up to 3 months per visit
  • Lodged online through ImmiAccount
  • No work permitted

  • Multiple visits within 12 months
  • Up to 3 months per visit
  • Lodged only by you, in the Government's own app
  • No work permitted

SUBCLASS 600 Visitor visa For travellers who don't fit the eVisitor or ETA groups — tourism, family visits and business visitor activities.
  • Stay period set by the decision
  • Lodged online through ImmiAccount
  • Assessed on supporting evidence
  • No work permitted

About the ETA (subclass 601). The Australian Government requires ETA applications to be made by the traveller through its own app, including a live photo taken with your own phone. No website — ours included — can lodge an ETA on your behalf. Treat any service that claims otherwise with caution. Our fee for the 601 covers eligibility guidance and a review of your answers, not lodgement.
